Day #12

On the 12/12/12, the last repetitive date ever, we had our fingers crossed that today's advent calendar be an exciting one... and it was!
"Share your Christmas spirit and decorate your workspace"
Definitely enjoyed doing this. Getting tangled in fairy lights and tinsel of all sorts of colours, making handmade snowflakes and paper chains is always a fun activity. Not forgetting the cheesy Christmas music to top it off.

Feeling Chrismassy... then spread the cheer!

Who wouldn't want to come to school now?!

Day #11

“Let us be kind to one another, for most of us are fighting a hard battle.”
- Ian MacLaren

A very strong quote and the first one of the month. Breaking away from the practical things that we have been doing and instead having something to think about. We all have our everyday routines; many can relate. The typical moan on a Monday morning right through the week and thrilled to see the face of Friday. As the days go by, we just seem to get on with it! We see and pass a crowd of people, many of whom we never take notice of. But for those that we do, some may bring upon a smile; this precious gesture. Nonetheless, behind every smile we see there is a story; one we may never get to know... nor do we need to know. We just try to be considerate at all times.

So make the effort to SMILE back to everyone as a sign of your kindness -- it has no boundaries or no limits. Its just a lovely way to remain congruent!

Day #10

"Write up and start giving out your Christmas cards"
This was an easy one. Funny though, how I was stuck with the duty to write them out but its okay... the mister took on the 'giving' part. Like Buddy says "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear" but don't think people will appreciate us caroling at their doorstop LOL... I think Christmas cards are probably our better option.

Happy Giving! x

Day #9

"Laughter is the best medicine. Share a joke or two with those around you"
This is an everyday motive for the both of us, especially when we are together. Always up to our antics, no matter how ridiculous. So, the first thing we aimed for this morning was to share some morning giggles with someone and we knew exactly who to pick on!
Just remember to bring laughter into your everyday... whatever the reason.

Quote of the day: "Sometimes I laugh so hard the tears run down my leg." LOL (Love this)
Happy days to you all x

Day #8

"Make a candlelit dinner for your family"
Such a pleasant way to begin the weekend =) We all know, we can always choose our friends but you cannot choose your family... So, today we made it all about F A M I L Y !

On this lovely, breezy Saturday morning, Sean, Mum, Dad & I headed to Taste of Christmas for some festive enjoyment. We listened to the amazing carol singers, we nibbled at lots of free samples, sipped on many beverages and fully relished our classic duck burgers from Comptoir Gascon. Delicious!
To end such a fun filled day, Sean and myself achieved our task of the day by cooking up a meal. With much success, we prepared some salmon blinis for starters and then Pad Thai for mains over a candlelit table. It was such an awesome day!
It is so important to spend your life showing those you love that they will always matter. Little gestures make the biggest impact.

Day #7

"Open your gift from your loved one"
We exchanged small gifts to brighten each others start of the day. It wasn't anything big nor expensive, however, as the saying goes 'its the thought that counts'. Being able to see the true value of a gift; beyond its materialism, beyond its costs and rather seek the reasons and thoughts attach to it.

Have a great weekend everyone! x

Day #6

Oh yay! The advent calendar has been pretty 'chocolateLESS' than the traditional ones we usually have. We were so relieved to open today's envelope to find this one. Big kid SMILE!

We were each given a Twix chocolate to enjoy but instead of savouring it all to ourselves, we were to share the other piece with whoever we wish.

The concept of today was 'sharing', not necessarily a chocolate bar, as we did but the thoughts behind it; the fulfillment of your intentions without expecting reciprocation. Sharing with someone a moment of joy, your hope and aspirations, fears and frustration or even just your smile; infuses them with the trust of your words or actions... and that's promising.

"Three things to more abundant living - caring about others, daring for others and sharing with others."

The fact that we are able to share this post with you today, we therefore express our fullest appreciation for taking the time to read it.

Happy Thursday x
